Does ChatGPT have a free trial?
No, not one anyone can start. ChatGPT itself has a free plan ($0, unlimited text chats), but there is no "start free trial" button for the paid plans: Go ($8 a month), Plus ($20), or Pro (from $100). The ways to use Plus free right now are the student offer for US college students, occasional one-month offers OpenAI shows to some accounts, and invites from subscribers.
Is there a free trial of ChatGPT Plus?
There is no general ChatGPT Plus free trial. ChatGPT Plus costs $20 a month, and OpenAI only gives free Plus time through specific offers: four free months for eligible US college students, a free month OpenAI sometimes shows to subscribers when they try to cancel, and limited promotional campaigns. If an offer applies to you, it appears inside your ChatGPT account.
Can students get ChatGPT Plus for free?
Yes, in the US. OpenAI is giving eligible college and graduate students four free months of ChatGPT Plus if they claim it by October 31, 2026 and verify enrollment through SheerID. After the four months it renews at $20 a month unless you cancel. Check chatgpt.com/students for the current terms.
Is there a 30-day or one-month ChatGPT Plus free trial?
Only as a targeted offer. OpenAI has shown a free month of Plus to some accounts, most often to subscribers who start cancelling. You cannot request it, it is not available to everyone, and it renews at the normal price when the month ends unless you cancel.
Is there a ChatGPT Plus free trial code or link?
No public one. OpenAI does not publish promo codes for ChatGPT Plus, and real offers appear inside your account or come in an email from OpenAI. Sites selling ChatGPT Plus codes or shared accounts break OpenAI's terms, and those accounts get shut down.
Is there a ChatGPT Pro free trial?
No. ChatGPT Pro starts at $100 a month, with three usage tiers to choose from, and has no free trial. Most people are better off trying Plus ($20 a month) first through one of the offers above.
Is there a ChatGPT Business free trial?
OpenAI does not list a free trial for ChatGPT Business. It costs $20 per user per month billed annually, or $25 billed monthly, with a two-user minimum. It includes ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work, and Codex, plus admin controls and no training on your business data by default.
What is ChatGPT Go, and is it free?
ChatGPT Go is OpenAI's low-cost plan at $8 a month, with more messages, uploads, image creation, voice chats, and longer memory than the free plan. It may include ads. It is not free, but it is the cheapest step up, and OpenAI has run free-Go promotions in some countries.
What does ChatGPT Plus add over the free plan?
Plus ($20 a month) adds OpenAI's advanced reasoning models, expanded messages, uploads, deep research, and memory, plus projects, scheduled tasks, custom GPTs, expanded Codex usage, and wider ChatGPT Work access. The free plan has unlimited text chats but limited uploads, images, deep research, and Codex.
Is Codex free with ChatGPT Plus?
Yes, and you can even try it free. The free ChatGPT plan includes limited Codex access, Plus expands Codex usage, and Pro gives longer Codex sessions. There is no separate Codex subscription. If you are new to ChatGPT Desktop, an invite from a subscriber can add a bonus on top.
How do I cancel a ChatGPT free trial before I get charged?
In ChatGPT, open Settings, go to the account or subscription section, choose Manage, and cancel your plan. If you subscribed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, cancel in that store's subscription settings instead. Cancelling keeps your access until the free period ends.

How do I get a ChatGPT invite?

What do I get from a ChatGPT invite?
Whatever OpenAI's current offer is, which is shown in the invite email before you accept. OpenAI changes the offer by campaign, plan, and region, and has included bonus usage credits for ChatGPT Desktop and Codex. You activate it by signing in to ChatGPT Desktop and sending your first message.
Who can be invited?
OpenAI only accepts invites for people who have not used ChatGPT Desktop in the last two months and do not already have an active invite. If you use ChatGPT Desktop regularly, an invite will not go through.
Why would a subscriber invite a stranger?
OpenAI rewards subscribers for inviting people, with usage credits per invite (we have seen 250 per invite), for up to 3 invites a month. Most subscribers do not have three friends who qualify, so people on this list are exactly who they want.
Is my email safe?
Your email is never shown on this page. It is shown to exactly one verified subscriber, who claims your request in order to invite you. Each subscriber can claim at most three people a month. You can withdraw your request any time from the link in your confirmation email.
Does a ChatGPT invite include Codex?
Codex, OpenAI's coding agent, runs inside ChatGPT Desktop, and the invite is to ChatGPT Desktop. So an invite is the way to try Codex, with whatever bonus the current offer includes. There is no separate Codex free trial.
