Professional Writing
Module 1: Writing Fundamentals
1.1 Introduction

1.1 Introduction

Time: ~15 minutes

What You'll Learn

  • Why most professional writing fails (and it's not grammar)
  • The three problems behind almost every bad email, report, and proposal
  • How this course is structured and what to expect
  • How the interactive format works with Claude

Key Concepts

Most professional writing fails for three reasons:

  1. No clear structure -- The reader has to hunt for the point
  2. Wrong tone for the audience -- Written for yourself instead of the reader
  3. Too many words -- Saying in 500 words what could be said in 150

These aren't writing talent problems. They're habits -- and habits can be fixed. This course fixes them through practice, not theory.

How This Course Works

This isn't a passive course. You won't read about writing and then try to remember it later. Instead:

  1. Claude introduces a concept
  2. You immediately practice it with real examples
  3. Claude gives you feedback
  4. You refine and move on

By the end of Module 1, you'll have the instincts to spot and fix bad writing -- yours and others'. Module 2 then teaches you to use AI as an editing partner to do it faster.
