BIY: AI Apps
Welcome

Build It Yourself: AI Apps for Small Business

You don't need a developer. You don't need to learn to code. You need a problem worth solving and an AI that can help you build the solution. This course walks you through both.

Who This Course Is For

Small Business Owners

You have problems software could solve but no budget for custom development. Now you can build it yourself.

Non-Technical Builders

No coding background required. You describe what you need in plain English and AI helps you build it.

Practical Problem-Solvers

You want real tools you will actually use -- not toy demos. This course builds things that solve your actual problems.

What You'll Build

By the end of this course, you will have built and deployed a real web application. Not a tutorial project -- something designed around your specific business needs.

Module 1: Your First Build -- Go from problem to deployed app.

  • Identify a problem in your business worth solving with software
  • Scope it small enough to actually finish
  • Choose the right tools (frameworks, databases, hosting)
  • Build the customer-facing side (forms, inputs, uploads)
  • Build the admin side (dashboards, management views)
  • Deploy it live on the internet with a real URL

Module 2: Making It Real -- Turn a first version into something lasting.

  • Iterate based on real feedback without overbuilding
  • Understand what you are paying for and how to stay on free tiers
  • Design screens that make sense to the people using them
  • Maintain your app, fix bugs, and know when to stop adding features

How It Works

Download the Course Materials

Get the course folder. It contains lesson guides, starter templates, and reference examples for every step.

Open Your AI Tool

Launch Claude, ChatGPT, or whichever AI assistant you prefer. This course works with any of them.

Follow the Lessons

Each lesson walks you through a specific stage of building your app. You work alongside AI -- describing what you need, reviewing what it builds, and learning as you go.

Ship Something Real

By the end of Module 1, your app is live on the internet. Module 2 helps you make it solid.

Prerequisites

This course assumes zero coding experience. If you can describe what you want in plain English, you have enough to start.

  • A computer with a web browser
  • An AI assistant (Claude Pro/Max, ChatGPT Plus, or similar)
  • A problem in your business you want to solve
  • About 4-6 hours total (split across sessions however you like)
