What AI readiness means for a small business
Readiness means having a repeatable task, usable information, someone accountable for the work and a way to check results. Buying a subscription is only one small part of adopting AI.
How to use your assessment results
Use your lowest-scoring area as your first improvement. Choose one low-risk pilot and compare time spent and error rates with your current process. Repeat this self-assessment after a month.
How to take the AI readiness quiz
- Answer all five questions using your current process, rather than your future plans.
- Review your readiness score and the improvement actions for areas scoring below three.
- Download the action plan and pick one owner, one task and one success measure for a pilot.
How the AI readiness score is calculated
Each area receives zero to four points: not started, discussed, partly in place, in place but untested, or tested. The total is multiplied by five. Scores below 40 suggest building foundations; 40–74 suggest preparing a pilot; 75–100 suggest trying a measured pilot. A high total can still hide a weak area, so review every answer.
Frequently asked questions
Is this a validated AI maturity assessment?
No. This is an educational self-assessment with five equally weighted questions. It helps prioritize a pilot; the score is not a certification or a prediction of return on investment.
Is this tool free and private?
Yes. Your entries are processed in this browser, without an AI API call or account. Copy or download your result before leaving; the tool does not save your inputs.
What is a good first AI pilot?
Choose a repeatable task with an output a person can check, such as turning public product information into a draft FAQ. Record time and quality before the pilot, use approved data and keep a person responsible for the result.
